We look for chart patterns that often precede the biggest stock moves. These include cup-with-handle, flat, double-bottom and other time-tested chart patterns that you will come to recognize. When a stock breaks free of one of these patterns on well above-average volume, it can go up substantially. We focus on stocks that have the strongest EPS (earnings per share) and RS (relative price strength) readings, usually in the 80's or 90's, but we also take into account a stock's accumulation, institutional sponsorship, industry group and other criteria.
Even the market's hottest stocks experience temporary pullbacks. But when these big movers exhaust their downward momentum, they can climb back up in a hurry! In addition to concentrating on market leaders for our reversals, we also occasionally feature past winners that appear to be attracting renewed interest. We spot reversal stocks using traditional technical analysis and candle chart patterns.
